Workshops

Sharing knowledge is an important part of Hellicar&Lewis. We regularly do talks, run workshops and educational programmes and have taken part in numerous art, design and educational conferences around the world.

We believe that design, code and creativity are skills that everyone should have – the youngest person we have taught was 8 years old, and the oldest 78 – so you are never too young (or old!) to start. We run workshops on a variety of subjects, but usually centre them around Paper Prototyping or Creative Coding. Paper Prototyping is a method that centres around working with technology without getting bogged down in technical details or specifications and Creative Coding is all about the use of platforms such as openFrameworks or Processing to create interactions that engage people and create feedback loops of interaction.

Our recent lecture series have been focused on teaching creative coding techniques – with a particular focus on new broadcast methods, tools for Art Directors and Computer Vision.

We have done workshops and lecture series at:

Central Saint Martins, London
D&AD x ASOS, London
London College of Fashion, London
Flash on the Beach, Brighton
Camberwell College of Art, London
London College of Communication, London
The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, Oslo
The Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Oslo
